I would imagine though there was subneolithics on the old Black Sea/Lake coast and the Proto-Indo-Anatolians on the steppe just north of them much like the later Greek colonies. |

BTW MA-1 is dated 24000bp and Villabruna 1 is dated 14000bp so the expansion of ANE into the Pontic steppe happened smack dab in the middle of the LGM ie the Pontic steppe was inhabited for sure. Also... |
