The Old Nubian alphabet

The Old Nubian alphabet was adapted from Coptic. It died out after the Islamisation of the Nubians, although there is an attempt to revive it for writing the modern Nobiin language (a direct descendant of Old Nubian):

The letterforms presented here (for modern Nobiin) are from Omniglot and directly derived from Coptic. Note the capitals in particular- Old Nubian was generally written unicase, which is one of the major reasons that lead Eujayl and van Gerven Oei, among others, to consider it a child of Coptic as opposed to a straight adaptation.

Here's the same chart using Eujayl's Sawarda typeface, which he designed to be more authentic to handwritten Old Nubian. Note also certain letterforms diverge from those of traditional Coptic:
