Naturally, I don't agree. A logo is just a design used as a symbol. It's an icon, if you will.
If you mean that a logo has to be boring and unappealing, then you're right.
I should clarify that I don't think any of the other entries is boring or unappealing. I'd be happy with any of them, but of course I prefer my daughter's creation. I just meant that a logo does not have to be entirely abstract and dull and unattractive.
I understand you. While a lot of people here obviously like it, I don't.
I really don't care which logo will be chosen.

That's a good one. They're all good. Any of them would do the job, but, of course, naturally, I prefer my daughter's creation. Plus I'm a huge fan of Lord of the Rings, fantasy in general, and Dungeons and Dragons. So, I think wizards look cool.

I like the owl and the wizard, but am not fully sold on either.
Honestly I've liked the current logo (DNA floating in library) from the start, and now that it's been a few months I'm kind of attached to it.
Can I vote to keep the current logo?

Must say, I agree there's nothing actually wrong with the existing logo. I don't know who came up with it, but I also like the line "Genetics Explored, Archives Preserved." It neatly shows that we have a serious mission as the core of our discussions and is likely to attract worthwhile future members while deterring visitors with crazy or extremist views. So whatever happens I'd personally be in favour of retaining that.
