Part of why we see such large contrasts even between full siblings is the relatively small number of variants we're looking at here. I appear to have the lowest percentage in my family -- just 27%. My father has 45%, while my daughter has 44%. Her percentage is more than either mine or her mother's (34%). The largest percentage in my family belongs to my 2nd sister, at 90%.
But look at the number of variants each of these reflects: 260 for me, 266 for my wife, and 273 for our daughter. My father's 45% comes from his having just one more Neanderthal variant -- 274 -- than my daughter does. My 2nd sister's 90% comes from her having 308 of the 2,872 23andMe tests.
And, of course, none of these percentages represents how much Neanderthal DNA we have -- just how we compare to the rest of 23andMe's customers. All of my family members are below 2%, and you likely would find many in the world with as much as 4%.
Oh -- I also just noticed that my wife's brother has even less Neanderthal than I do, with 250 variants. That puts him at the 18% mark among 23andMe customers. My BIL maybe can blame that Neanderthal ancestry for (1) being more like to sweat during a workout; and (2) being less likely to blush easily. (Not sure if that second one is even true. He was a redhead, after all, and blushed like one. He'd still be a redhead ... if he had hair. [If you're wondering, I do. Lots. :-) ].)

Well, the whole Neanderthal thing is goofy, but it's kind of fun. We're all at less than 2% Neanderthal DNA. That's not much even for those of us who supposedly have more Neanderthal DNA than 95% of the other 23andMe customers.
I do have kind of a prominent brow ridge, however, as my wife has pointed out to me a few times.

In Living DNA:
Your neanderthal score is 342
2.15% Neanderthal
Denisovan Score: 131
0.23% Denisovan
I'd actually forgotten that I have a Living DNA Neanderthal score, too. It's 309. That puts me ahead of 39% of Living DNA customers as compared to only 27% of 23andMe customers.

They don't ship 23andMe kits to my country sadly... But I do have some perceptive Neanderthal traits such as a very prominent browridge and occipital bun. (I would be a good looking fella 50.000 years ago as you might think)
I have more than 45 percent of customers. None on my X chromosome, I don't know what that says about my mother; she tested at Ancestry, not 23andMe, but I did get two copies (one from both parents) of the Neanderthal better sprinter gene.

Living DNA have read Neanderthal SNP's, tellmeGen as well; if they don't ship to Brazil then using your raw data for other DNA test would work too.

Anybody get tested at National Genographic back in the day? They gave DNA percentages for Neanderthal and Denisovan... actually that's where I first discovered my ydna haplogroup U106 and mtdna T2b2b. For what it's worth I had 3.5% Neanderthal and 2.4 % Denisovan in that test. Haven't tested any where else that tests that sort of thing that I am aware! Cheers!
