Y-haplo of Zayukovo-3:79 (Caucasus) has been revised in a new paper. This is an unreliable sample:

Too bad, it would be a great fit, since we got E-L618 from nearby in Hungary on the one side and in Bulgaria outliers on the other side of the Carpathians. Its pretty obvious that E-L618 is most likely to have had produced E-V13 and that this branch survived in the Inner Carpathians being the most likely scenario, with some outliers here and there on both sides just proving the point.

The Slovakian samples look more deeply rooted, the Sarmatians from South Hungary look fairly mixed (steppe, locals and Imperial Romans). It will be interesting to see whether the Slovakians have the same or a different autosomal profile compared to those mixed Sarmatians.

It's expected in many ways that in such frontier areas of the Roman Empire we'll find all kinds of different haplogroups. There's a J-P58 and a J-L283 in the same area.

I think that some samples like E-M123 from north Europe in the pre-Roman era may be misdated.
