For now, anyway.....

Hmm.  I'm not seeing them.  323,007 in FTDNA haplotree on 20 Apr, 323,134 right now

I am seeing 341,631 for the last hour.    Via the Public Haplotree.
This was also the number I saw for a few minutes earlier today before it blinked out.

Weird.  I just look at
A-PR2921:  and it's still total 323,134

I'm looking via this link https://www.familytreedna.com/public/y-dna-haplotree/A, clicking on the 3 dots to the right to see the country report where the 323,134 appears.

Ok, I just learned something new.  It gives you different totals depending on whether you are logged in or not logged in.

Logged in I get 341,631,

As mentioned before total is 323,134 when not logged in.

Must be some delay between the 2.

Very interesting, although I am seeing 341,631 regardless of signing-in.   I tried both ways and I see the same.

Maybe clearing cache helps. Anyway, databases are updating slowly.

Several dozens of new branch members, almost 1/10 of the total with the new update. I wonder whether all of them can searched already. So far not that much in the searchable match data base.
Also nothing for my father's matches at all, from any autosomal match. Our ratio of haplogroup E vs. R is 1 : 14 for autosomal matches and the few E matches are all of different branches and clearly not related directly paternally.

So this morning the count is at 342,331 for all testers at https://www.familytreedna.com/public/y-dna-haplotree/A . On Sunday when I looked at it the count was 323,010.

The numbers are now rising by day for my branch. Doesn't really show that much among my STR matches (just one new assignments), but still dozens of new members, presumably for the most part from people without any previous yDNA test.

This morning the total count is 350,233. Last night it was at 344,627. So it looks like they are ramping up like they had planned to.

Do you have a monthly total for each month last year? I'm wondering what the trend was without the FF subclades.

No, I just started paying attention on 12/9/23

12/9/2023 283909
12/16/2023 284214
12/27/2023 284786
1/1/2024 284780
1/15/2024 285365
1/26/2024 285926
1/29/2024 286463
2/1/2024 290714
2/8/2024 291702
3/1/2024 294205
4/5/2024 298667
4/16/2024 319922
4/20/2024 323007
5/1/2024 341631
5/4/2024 350233

I do know that R1b was
88002 on 1/1/2023
108868 on 12/31/2023

or 23.7% annual growth

today R1b is 134,866 which is 23.9% increase for just the first 4 months of this year

I started tracking the public haplotree in the beginning of 2023. These are my numbers.

2023
February 1722
March 1220
April 1647
May 1218
June 1667
July 1327
August 1275
September 614
October 1012
November 800
December 39532
2024
January 1918
February 7501
March 4038
April 24891
May 27029

These numbers are not exactly month to month, but pretty close. At some point in the fall of 2023 several hundred or more kits were removed from the tree so the number went down at least one time.

BigY kits in the tree was 99.455 on the 10th of September and is now 109.538. No BigY kits added to the tree since 20th of April. I guess the're very busy adding FF kits right now.

Thanks. Using your numbers I calculated the average to be 1310 kits per month on the months with less than 4000 additions. So if the months with more than 4000 additions also had about 1310 Big Y kits, not counting May, there were about 70,000 GSA FF kits added.

How are you determining that no BigY kits added to the tree since 20th of April ?

December 39532, April 24891, and May 27029. It's barely 4 days into May. They really are ramping up.
