best way to copy freeforums (BBCode) post code
#1
Question
I'm trying to recreate/copy some thread at genarchivist.freeforums.net

When directly copying and pasting posts the links retain the http://redirect.viglink.com/... Redirector which does not seem good to me.

When trying to Edit the post and copy the BBCode I could so far not find a method to insert that code here in MyBB?
It seems it is this setting which might not be active ("Missing MyCode (BBCode) Editor"):
https://docs.mybb.com/1.8/faq/mycode-editor-missing/

Could the Admins please check this?

BTW: tagging users with @admin @AimSmall seems to not work and this feature is only provided by a plugin in MyBB:
https://community.mybb.com/thread-227384.html
Is there another way to tag members/users?

"It seems it is this setting which might not be active ("Missing MyCode (BBCode) Editor"):" it is actually active, both in Admin CP and your User CP. I went throught all configurations described in the documentation and they are all correct. A member posted a thread about copying and pasting posts, you can check it out here and see if it helps: https://genarchivist.com/showthread.php?tid=12
If it doesn't fix your problem please come to me again so we can figure out the best way.

The tagging plugin is currently unninstalled as we had problems with plugins and I decided to turn them off to fix the forum. I am going to re-install a few of them today.

I'm a huge fan of spoilers and tend to use them in pretty much every thread I create to group large blocks of text concerning one subject, how do we use them here?
Show Content
doesn't seem to work.

In the linked thread I see "you have to press the option on the far right of the paper with lines, the last option" and think you mean that?
I tried that with the BBCode from https://genarchivist.freeforums.net/post/1799/thread
While some code in [] seems to be interpreted like lists, for example all [a href=" and [img src=" code remains uninterpreted for me.

I see... I think I know what might be causing this. We will probably need something that can interpret HTML codes in posts. I also disabled Minify Stylesheets, let's see how it goes!

I also tried some BBCode to HTML Online Converter but also those I tried could not convert all [] code correctly.
Maybe freeforums code has some hickup and is not standard?
If someone finds a workaround please let us know.

Copy and Past from freeforums Editor to MyBB Editor here seems to work now.
However Spoiler seems to be not integrated into the MyBB Editor here, is it available by using certain tags?

Spoiler tags work in a different structure here if I remember correctly, you will have to edit them everytime...
