Was the Mississippian chiefdom of Mabila from year 1540 the same as the later tribe of Mobile? What do you think?
Mabila was located in central Alabama while the later Mobile tribe lived at the Mobile Bay in south-western Alabama.

Well apparently Mabila was located in modern Clarke County, Alabama, according to this article:
