It depends on the group  and even caste, and it falls significantly once you  the Gangetic plains , also all Central Asian groups are lumped with late Sappali farmers but there is considerable variation with some groups having excess Central Siberian ancestry or others maintaining a more Eneolithic profile well into the late BA.  In Todas , they don't need any Steppe or Central Asian ancestry at all but a very Iran Chl -Obeid farmer like source on both qpAdm and G25. I have seen some use IVCp samples which are already have significant Central Asian ancestry, for example this child was clearly of mixed Central Asian-IVCp parentage.

BMAC will eat the Steppe ancestry on QPadm and G25, if BMAC is not included steppe ancestry goes up.

Is this due to minor WSHG ancestry within BMAC

EHG is the WHG shifted version of WSHG, so that's why WSHG's contribution to steppe is limited.

BMAC is also present in other ancient samples such as ALA019. These kind of people might have worked for Persian army and jumped into India as merchants and mercenaries. A simple run of nmonte using Swat and the ALA019 apart from other outliers show the NW groups like Khatri, Kamboj, Rajputs have this extra ALA019 like ancestry which is a mixed UZB Sappali Tepe and Dzhaarkutan with some SIS_BA1 and Sintasta samples. The input to these NW groups might have come from such mixed samples durng MLBA and BA collapse rather than BMAC directly. Also you could see high Udegram Swat input among these NW samples along with ALA019 like input suggesting some kind of Near East influence post BA collapse. There is a small sintasta mixed part in these samples. Whereas this kind of input not present among many brahmins who tend to prefer Srubnaya_alakul or Sintasta and other buddhist era castes like Baniya_Punjab and Kamma preferring Saidu_sharif.
