32% England should be split Scandinavian and Central Europe. They cannot pick French, German or Scandinavian from English.

I also am skeptical of the East/West Slavic split.

This is definitely a mixed bag.  It does appear to have identified some aspects of my ancestry, even if not necessarily well.  But the main problem is not so much my analysis by itself, but the inconsistencies between me and various family members.

As one example, there's my dad.  There can be no question at all that he is my dad: FTDNA for one shows shared DNA between us as 3,563 cM, with a longest shared block of 284 cM -- which is the length of the longest chromosome.

Yet MyOrigins 3.0 reports 0% for Central European, IrelandIberia, and Malta.  That implies that these ancestries are all entirely from my mother, but they add up to about 89% of my ancestry.  At the same time, MyOrigins shows 95% England, Wales, and Scotland, yet I only only managed to inherit 4% myself?  Obviously, since I inherited 50% of my father's DNA, how can I have less than 45% of this ancestry?

The answer can only be that they're wrong about him, about me, or about both of us.

the new central europe cluster doesnt really seem to pick up central europeans now its mostly northwest weigthed
vs the old 'west and central' cluster where i scored 52%

but the Chromosome painter is very informative
and deals with the macro clusters ie Western Europe, Southern Europe etc.

Central Europe + Scandinavia + Iberian Peninsula came as a surprise, I was expecting more West/East Slavic or Baltic. Oh well...

Genetic code: This is the blueprint for an individual's traits and is inherited equally from both parents.

Mitochondria: These are the "powerhouses" of cells and are inherited exclusively from the mother.

Cytoplasm: This is the fluid-filled substance within cells that contains various organelles and molecules. The majority of the cytoplasm is inherited from the mother, but some is also contributed by the sperm.

Y chromosome: This chromosome determines biological sex and is inherited exclusively from the father.

That's just a random pick by the algorithm. Some get it, others don't, even from one family. Just like at MH. FTDNA is a bit better, probably, but remains in the ballpark of the more inconsistent ethnicity estimates.

i can see in the chromo painter how it all weighs out on each chromosome per pair
just not sure why the western segments mainly fall into the british+irish clusters rather than their central euro cluster; unless german ancestry is no longer mainly repr by it vs their older cluster or mH's north-and-west cluster (incl my matches); but since the 50% comes from all of its sub clusters the overcluster western euro ought to be a hit itself (regardless of the odd sub constellation)
