Shouldn't it be generally accepted now that Neanderthals are just Sapiens plus earlier Eurasians, with TMRCA of uniparentals only around 300 thousand years ago? Models usually show deeply divergent Denisovan populations so they aren't really as well-defined but consistent with being the unmixed or less mixed Eurasians.
I think the question is more like what were the proportions, last I read it was only something like 6% modern human in Neanderthals, which is quite low for a complete replacement of uniparentals, maybe Denisovans are also highly admixed?
Also the obvious answer for those f-stats would be that South Africans also have some archaic at around Denisovan level, no? Like the PCA suggests.
