Yes and no. First of all the source population samples for Iberia IA aren't precisely identified other than they come from Olalde et al. 2019 Regardless, if the modern population is mostly comprised of an Iberian IA population not included in those samples then the Roman Age samples will be a proxy for the missing SNPs that were already in Iberia prior to the Romans. It's not like Romans and Iberians didn't have some shared Mesolithic, Neolithic, Bronze Age and Iron Age ancestors. Secondly we don't know the precise population size of Spain in Iron Age. Third, we don't know the exact number of people with Roman DNA that left their imprint in Spain, and what the percentage actually is, although we do know for a fact that they did go into and conquer Spain. The seige of Numancia is chilling.
