In 2012, FTDNA was using an Affymetrix chip. I suppose this is the V1.
In 2015, FTDNA switched over to an Illumina chip. V2.
Most or all Affymetrix testers were retested via the Illumina chip by 2015. Chip02. But I am not sure about this. I see different info and dates on different views. And my memory is foggy about 2015. I know my 2011 test has been re-dated to 2015. I have a BigY so I will not be able to track FF Y updating on my kit.
There are lot of kits dated 2015. It's going to take a while for FTDNA to get through that year. Unless they are processed by their original order date year.
