The X2 Discussion Thread

This thread is intended for any discussion on Haplogroup X2, including ancient DNA or any general questions. This rare haplogroup has a very interesting distribution, ranging from Southern Europe to Indigenous American populations.

To start, this is my own maternal haplogroup, which I was very surprised to get. My maternal lineage comes from Calabria in Southern Italy.

History this mtDNA is very complicated I don't understand there subclade X2 in Europe and America ( Native American )
what is age TMRCA between subclades American and European ?

X2p is big in South Asia. but not in percentage levels. less than 1/4%maybe

Seems to thinly cover all of northern hemisphere - admittedly with very little in east eurasia. Also lack of diversity in north america iirc.
