Benghazi Y-DNA chart i made using the data from elmrighni et al + libyaftdna project
#1
I ran all the STR (values? not sure what they are called lol) through the nevgen y haplo predictor + verified a few of the libyans on the ftdna projects' eastern origins, either through last name or from the city they originate from. not sure how to upload images onto here, so feel free to message me for more info regarding anything.

Some Autosomal results reflecting the potential background of the inhabitants of the city

First profile: relatively low arab, possibly represents a mix of recent western migrants to the city who then mixed with cretans (possibly?) and then the more local arab profiles/population over time. or, this could be the old urban profile of benghazi. not enough information to tell

50.8 Berber_IA/EMA
28.0 Aegean/Anatolian(780–30BC)

4.4 Yoruba

47.2 Berber_IA/EMA
27.2 Aegean/Anatolian(780–30BC)
18.4 Arab_Modern
5.2 Yoruba
2.0 Lebanon_IA

second profile: result from the cyreneican (eastern) hinterland, could possibly represent the pre-western libyan + ottoman/cretan population of benghazi, pretty doubtful but made somewhat more likely given the fate of the luwata who had inhabited the land prior to banu sulaym's arrival + the region's E-M81 clade distributions (largely zenata or houara clades)

Do you think these results are quite representative of the average or are there any known sample bias?
