Ranis UP Human genomes

(5 hours ago)JRD Wrote: Just checked. Ranis13, while overwhelmingly Zlaty Kun-lile, does have some Bacho Kiro-like ancestry:

Target: Ranis13_simulated_g25_scaled
Distance: 4.1134% / 0.04113361
80.4 Czechia_Bohemia_UP_HG:ZKU002_noUDG
16.4 Bulgaria_BachoKiro_LatePleistocene:CC7-335_noUDG
3.2 Bulgaria_BachoKiro_LatePleistocene_o:F6-620_noUDG

I manually added the individual labels to the results/components.
I was also able to surmise that when running it, given the little bit of distance to proper Zlaty Kun as well. This could just be from my sims, or it could be real, it fits with Ust Ishim as well. Will be nice if there are other high coverage ones we can play around with.

Also, the Ranis13 sample is a very good proxy for the non-Western ancestry in the Kostenki-Sunghir cluster.

How old Ranis13 is? Would he be before 45k or just 45-40k? This corresponds with the origin time of K2. Since Australasians reached Sahul very early, lots of factors all crowded in several thousand years.

Though, as one can see, Sunghir3 and Sunghir4 don't fit well, which could be the model or substructure either before or after the West Eurasian expansion. And here's the simulated Buran Kaya samples in case anyone is curious:

Target: BK3A_K47sim
Distance: 13.7708% / 0.13770820
75.6 Romania_PesteraMuierii_EUP
24.4 Ranis13_simulated_g25_scaled

@JRD

If Kostenki-Sunghir cluster does have non-western/basal ancestry, it would be on the basis of Goyet. (considering Goyet as the unadmixed WE)

Also, I don't think it's very accurate to use G25 for paleolithic samples, especially when using younger samples to model older samples.

That last point is why I frequently caution about the models. Definitely would like confirmation or refutation.

Also, Goyet (and the rest of the Fournol cluster) have clear East Eurasian admixture, yet models (including in the Buran Kaya paper) do show some special affinity to the Kostenki-Sunghir cluster. Most plausible explanation is that the two arose from admixture between a non-Muierii and non-CWE West Eurasian population and different non-Western populations.

Returning to the original topic, I expect the other Ranis samples to be broadly similar to Ranis13.

Why does it have to come out on a Tuesday!? Now I have to live 4 whole days where I know the data is available but I can't do anything with it!
What cruel fate lol
